This simple recipe makes the equivalent of 1 can of the well-known bird brand of evaporated milk. Again, another recipe found in the kitchen drawer of the Red River, New Mexico cabin we stayed at. Submitted by Patty Tackitt to the church fundraiser cookbook by University United Methodist Church in 1986.
Homemade Evaporated Milk
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup + 2 Tablespoons instant powdered non-fat milk
3/4 cup sugar
Put ingredients in a mixer bowl & beat until smooth. Use in other recipes as desired.
